COBRA Pre/Post-Processing
The Computer-Based Resistance Analysis (COBRA) model is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) in-house application for performing survivability assessments on specific targets, maintained and operated by Bevilacqua on-site personel. Since COBRA has no graphical user interface, the manual process used to create the input configuration data files is tedious and time consuming. It requires specialized knowledge and is prone to format errors. In addition, considerable time and effort is required to perform the interpretation of the large volume of raw data generated by the model. To address these limitations and facilitate the timely and accurate preparation of COBRA's input configuration file, Bevilacqua developed the COBRA Graphical User Interface Configuration Tool (GUIConfig), a user-friendly software pre/post-processor component to assist in the data configuration. As a post-processor, it is able to provide 3-D color-coded representations of the fragment impact points on structures and objects.
The list of parameters required for a COBRA configuration is exhaustive, the following are a partial list of dialogs which make up the interface:
- Glitter Sphere
- Component Specification
- System Definition
- Soil Parmeters
- Attack Data
- Aim Points
- Projectile Parameters
- Threat Fragmentation Parameters
- Personal PKh Coefficients
- Structural Parameters
- Residue Mass and Velocity Curves
- Fragility Parameters
